Catalog guide

Make the choice easy. Keep the file easy to find.

A selection sheet helps someone choose a design. Its companion CSV helps you find the exact original file afterward.

1. Add a collection

Choose multiple PES or DST files, or drop in a ZIP to retain its folder paths. Files are read in your browser. For folders, create a ZIP first; a plain file picker cannot recover the original folder structure.

Each file gets its own ID, such as SC-001. Same-name files and format copies remain separate. Additions receive new IDs; sorting and selection changes do not renumber them. Reloading starts a new collection.

2. Decide what the customer sees

Uncheck any file you do not want in the printed catalog. Search narrows the list without changing your selection. “Select all” and “Clear selection” apply to the whole collection, including files hidden by search.

“Prefer PES versions” unchecks a DST file only if a readable PES has the same path and stem in the same import. It does not compare stitch shapes or merge files. Review the result and use Undo if needed. Unselected files remain in the CSV.

3. Arrange and save the sheet

Set a title, choose US Letter or A4, and use 4, 6 or 9 designs per page. Four gives more room for details; nine is more compact. Check long filenames and dense designs in the preview.

Choose “Print / save PDF.” In your browser’s print dialog, select Save as PDF, match the chosen paper size, use 100% scale and turn off browser headers and footers. Enable background graphics if the preview does not preserve its contrast background. Check every page before saving.

Design images are fitted to their cells. They are not life-size templates. The displayed millimeter dimensions describe the bounds of needle penetrations, not a recommended hoop size.

4. Keep the original-file index

Download the CSV alongside the PDF. It includes each ID, filename, complete relative path, source batch, format, dimensions, stitch count, color status and selection/read status. Failed files appear with an explanation. Use the printed ID to locate the original; do not rely on filename alone.

CSV values that could be interpreted as spreadsheet formulas receive a leading apostrophe. Your original filename and file remain unchanged. Keep the CSV with its PDF: IDs are local to the collection and can be reused in a new session.

Supported formats & limits

Supported files

The reader supports a bounded subset of PES and standard DST. Unrecognized versions, unsupported commands and damaged files produce visible errors.

Compatibility with all digitizing software or format variants is not guaranteed. This tool does not create, convert or repair machine files.

Preview colors

Standard DST files have no original RGB thread colors and use a labelled neutral preview. Extended DST files with a TC table can provide embedded colors.

PES may use embedded RGB or a Brother indicative palette. Partial, palette and missing-color states are labelled on the catalog; palette colors are approximate, not original custom thread colors.

Thread previews are not a sewn-result or color-match guarantee.

File limits

Preview capacity

To keep preview memory bounded, a collection also stops accepting readable artwork at 500,000 decoded records or 12 MB of SVG artwork; affected entries remain visible with an error.

Archives & errors

Encrypted, split and ZIP64 archives are rejected. Nested ZIPs are listed as unsupported.

If a file fails, its row explains why; if an archive fails, re-create or split it from the originals.

Everything stays in this page’s memory until you reload or remove it. Download your PDF and CSV before leaving.
